i do not know about your current stats, mentally. but it sounds to me like you're making a good decision. it would be worse to just stay in school and let the depression get worse and worse. not to mention. you'd end up fucking up at school and still having paid for it, and stuff like that. you're making a mature choice, and i wish you all the luck in the world.
amen on the quizzes. that shit is just plain annoying. and also, ani difranco? sheeeit. if i had to listen to someone wailing that crap i would scream. haha.
Isn't it a little hypocritical to say you can put what you want in your journal, and then turn around and make a comment about what others put in theirs? If I feel like posting about me, I will. If I feel like putting it out there, or friends only, or personal(which most of mine are), I will. If I feel like posting a quiz, I will. If I feel like filling it with meaningless moments of an evening out with my friends, whether my friends list approves and/or cares, I will. It's rather simple to remove a person from a list if what they include in their journal doesn't appease you.
yes it is hypocritical - i am human afterall. and for that reason i would never question anyone directly in their own journal.
i am not bothered by people who occasionally do it, because pretty much everyone does, and i have no problem ignoring the odd quiz or whatever... but i have people on my list whose (who i was refering to when i made the complaint) content is pretty much all quiz results, and they will often update their journals multiple times a day with nothing else.
in those cases (and i am in no way refering to you here), fine; do that! but dont expect people not to complain about it.
and it's not always so easy to remove people... there are cases when these are people that i know in real life (again not refering to you) and i don't want to hurt them.
i am w/ you on the "memes" thing. if i feel the (not so) odd burning desire to post one, i throw it behind a cut so people don't have to deal with it. in fact, anything pointless goes behind a cut.
