Mononucleosis

So... people keep reminding me of the fact that having had mono once, I am more prone to getting it again. These people are namely family members, who I know just care and want to see me staying healthy, and a couple track members who, again, are just looking out for me ( Read more... )

I've never heard that. I had mono in 10th grade and from what doctors told me then, I could get it again but it was unlikely. There are two strains: you can only get each once. Go to your student health center and get a test done - that way you know and if it actually does wipe you out and influence school stuff, then the real reason is documented - which will help you.

I did go to the Health Center on Friday, and they sent me across the street to the hospital for blood tests. The small tests the health center could have run would have come up positive because I had it before. I'll know by Tuesday, most likely. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I've just got a flu or something like that. I would just rather err on the side of caution.
