Does anyone else think that Talk Like a Pirate Day actually means "Talk like the death of Geoffery Rush's Career as a Real Actor" day?

I mean, if you walk around the city talking like a REAL 18th Century pirate - with aposite profanity, threatening behaviour and promises of rape - the police start looking at you funny. Trust me on this.

I haven't seen any pirates today - I've been most disappointed.

I watched the US version of Wife Swap a while back (yeah, I know... I just needed the background noise and it was the least bad option going), and they had this one family who roleplayed as pirates, and that was their day-to-day life. They dressed up as pirates, gave themselves pirate names, and lived by something they called "pirattitude", which seemed to manifest itself as not doing anything you didn't feel like doing. There were no promises of rape or threatening behaviour; plenty of swearing, though.

I can't help but wonder if they think Talk Like A Pirate Day is all rather redundant...

That's why I spend the day in the company of friends! They don't usually mind the above :3

I was hoping to answer the phnes at work like a pirate...sadly no one at work took to the idea quite happily. I think it may have been amusing though

"YARRRRR Group accounts"
"Shiver me timbers you're not getting money this week!!"
