I've been hearing rumours that some people are forgetting as of late. I take it as thier memory getting rusty or its just one of some effects of the mansion...

Since I truly doubt that a 'rusty' memory would explain forgetting nearly half a year's worth of experiences-- unless we assume selective amnesia, which would be highly unlikely-- then this particular phenomenon is probably some fault of the mansion's.
