I’m beginning to think that my natural state of mind is “confused”. Choices are not my forte, so to speak, and I’m seldom completely sure of what I want. When I choose to go, I keep thinking I should have stayed; when I choose to stay, I regret missing out on a new experience ( Read more... )

Well, whatever you decide to do don't regret it and enjoy it as much as you can. I don't like the idea of hitchhyking either. I've only done it once, in Ireland, but that was typical to go from the town to the small villages hitching a ride. It may not be in your area at all, but I can't help but think "Ciudad de Juárez" at the idea of hitchhyking in Mexico.

Let's hope the situation in British airports is stable by the time you go there...

Naw, Ciudad Juarez is much further up the country, thankfully. The real problem about hitch-hiking is that many people here drink and drive at the same time (I've seen people in gas stations buy their bottle of tequila, beer or alcoholic drink, and start to drink it as they start the car). Also, the ones who usually pick you up are trailer drivers who speed up to 100 k/h. Most of the accidents I've seen here involve a trailer. So there you go.

Agh yes. I heard they don't let you take your hand luggage in with you anymore.

Bueno, el caso es que lo mejor es evitar hacer autostop...
