I had no idea, and I'm so sorry. Losing a pet you've had for so long is unbearable. I'm in tears right now just remembering my own and it's been seven years. Even when it's for the best, when they've lived a good life (and that's because of you, remember) it still breaks your heart to let them go. There's nothing else to say, it's going to hurt for a long time, that's just how it works.
