this is the first entry in this journal and i don't know quite what to say. yesterday and today have been the best two days of my life, i'm reading stephen jay gould in spanish, and tonight i'm going out for the first time for a night in the city. spain is a complex combination of beauty and mystery and all kinds of newness and old familiarities
