KAT-TUN Arena Tour Goods Review

May 10, 2010 15:27

My concert report was already way too long, but I wanted to do a little review of the goods that were for sale at the concert. So, here we go!

The Pamphlet
Always a must by in my book.  You may even consider me a pamphlet whore.  My feelings on this one are mixed.  First, the cover is quite nice and heavy duty, which is a huge plus. A lot of JE pamphlets are paperback and whimpy.  This one has some weight to it. Sadly, I don't much like the the crown and flame image on the cover.  I would have preferred just the crown.  The strange red/orange colored 'naked' pictures are not to my liking at all, but the shots of them with the dark/destroyed background are hot.  I only wish there were more shots of them as a group in it.

The Clearfile
I don't have much use for these and usually pass on getting one for myself, however the group shot on it is very nice and I love the fading purple background, so I got one anyway. Other than that, its a clear file so there is not much to comment on.

The Poster
Made from heavy duty, quality paper, like all JE posters.  A nice shot of the group, I only wish they were wearing or doing something more interesting.  If you are a 'put posters on your wall' kind of person, it's a must have.

The Hair Accessory
This is the must have good of this concert.  I love this thing and have pretty much worn it since I bought it. In fact, I am wearing it as I type this up.  The bag it comes in is cute and can be used as a cell on camera bag. The hair srunchie itself is very in style here in Japan. It's large and made of a sort of sheer-type black fabric.  There are images embroidered on the fabric of the scrunchy that feature the concert's signature crown and one that spells out KAT-TUN.  Mixed in are also little white sparkly gems.  Might be overkill for some, but it's perfect for me.  I like to keep my hair up in a bun, and this fits around the bun and adds a bit of fun to my look.  I even wore it to the Junior High School where I work and got several comments on it's cuteness.  Both I and my students give it two thumbs up. It also has it's own tag that labels it as being from the KAT-TUN 2010 Arena Tour. If you can only get one good, this is the one I recommend.  Even if you don't have long hair, a lot of girls were wearing it as a bracelet at the concert.

The Photo Sets and Uchiwa
Not much to say here besides the fact that I wish there was at least one pic of them in their warrior costume outfits they use during the very start of the concert. I usually only purchase Jin goods for myself.  Sometimes I also go for Kame's things, but I prefer his longer hair look.  My favorite Uchiwa photo was Junno's. Strange hair, but great expression.  For the photo sets, I think Kame had the best shots.

The T-shirt
If you are small enough, get it!  I love the T-shirt.  It's purple and black stripped with the crown logo and KAT-TUN written on the front.  The tops of the crown each have a little gem.  A lot of girls were wearing them after buying them at the concert and they are super cute.  However, as I have learned in the past, the one size fits all T-shirt does not quite fit me. I wear a size M/L in the States.

The Tumbler
I thought I would like this way more than I do. In fact, I thought it would be my must have item of the con.  It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be and not as well made as I was hoping.  The top is covered by a round rubber thing and has a very simple and plain opening.  It's also kind of hard to see the crown image on the cup and the silver part like to collect scuff marks and finger prints. I don't have much faith in it's seal power.

The Shopping Bag
Crap compared to last year's bag.  When it's closed up in it's wallet looking form, you can tell the stitching on it is quite poor.  If you are looking for something light and compact, it may be worth it, but I would probably pass on this one.  Super disappointing.

The Penlight
So-so.  It even has the same handle design as the last Kinki Kids concert penlight.  Makes me wonder if they didn't just put it together with spare parts that were laying around.  The Crown design is nice and has some sparkles in it.  The settings are red, blue, mix, and fade.  I do like the mix setting, because it essentially creates a purple light and as purple is my favorite color, it saw a lot of air time during the concert. I like the Globe from last year and the QoP sword better though.

And there's my review of the goods. If you are interested in getting any of them, I am running pre-order at my sales site je_goods.  The pre-order is for the World Tour goods though, so they may be different from the goods listed above. Pics will be up later.
