He sips his drink as he considers, "Would it fool the experts?"

"Then that's brilliant. What's your drink?"

"There's a tempting offer."

She's pretty and he gives her a charming smile, "You should accept it. Convince me of your brilliance."

She's quite pretty! With long legs and rather shapely. She smiles right back at him. "I delivered my first set of twins yesterday?" she offers. Laruna isn't the most brilliant of students, never really paying much attention in school. But delivering twins is hard!

"That is worth celebrating. I'm simply a research scientist nothing as exciting. Charles Xavier and what's your drink?"

Charles is rather proud of his work but he knows he's better at research, telepathy makes clinical practice complicated.

There is a lady at the bar who smiles at the tipsy newcomer and raises her glass at him.

The glass contains some yellowish and opaque liquid that might pass as some terribly organic yeast beer, but is actually the ancient Egyptian original.

He raises his glass to her, "Good evening."

"Oh, is it?" she asks.

Back in her world, things are still very much moving, and much that is happening gives her reason to worry.

"It is for me. When is it for you?"

He gives her one of his rather charming smiles since the world is feeling rather rosy.

"What is the time limit on acing a paper?" Fry asks, wandering over.

"I don't think there is one. If you're proud of it and did well on it then have something you like drinking on my tab."

"I ace most of my papers." Fry says. "I got a B on my latest English essay though, and that's much harder for me."

"Then celebrate that. My dissertation is moving along well and I'm in the mood to pass around the good feelings,"

He can afford to buy people drinks and so he will.

"Does preventing mass infanticide count?" a tired-looking redhead - who, if her wardrobe is any indication, is a fairly close contemporary to Charles, at least chronologically - asks.
(And really, after that case, she needs a drink.)

"I can't think how it doesn't. What can I get you?"

He frowns at just how tired she looks and offers her a seat.

Rebecca takes the offered seat with a grateful smile. "Thank you. I rarely say no to a good martini."
It's not the work itself that's got her worn out so much as the nature of the case. She never does like the ones where small children are at risk.

To save time, he sends the order to Bar by thought and a martini appears for Rebecca,

"I hope that suits you. It sounds like you do important work."
