Because school sucks and I need some praise: My JLPT Results!

Sep 07, 2012 23:21

I have a paper worth 30% of my grade due next Thursday which I haven't started on. I can't ask anyone for help (except the professor but yeah) because all the people I know in the module have their papers due in like, November. He releases all the 8 essay topics at the start of the semester but sets the deadlines one week apart for each one, and I ( Read more... )

CONGRATULATIONS!! XD That's an amazing score, well done ^^ make me very nervous for when I decide to do them *squirms*
Don't stress yourself with N2 until you know you can at least make it to the test. Why not give yourself some more time so you can pass it amazingly like your last one??
well that's just how I would LIKE to do things in life, but it's not always a practical option ne?

Good luck with your paper!! paper's without guidelines are always incredibly painful, but you'll get through it ^^ Listen to KAT-TUN for strength XD

HAHA Your icon is like a *sigh* "do I have to?"
I should get myself a similar icon :P

Thanks! <3 Although I have to say that this is not a very accurate representation of my Japanese skills (which are roughly non-existent) since it's all MCQ and I'll good at guessing orz ( ... )

Haha yeah multi-choice answers make life too easy!

I won't be taking them for a while yet, I really only just started learning properly, but i'm moving to Tokyo to attend a language school in January next year, so at some point I will definitely be looking to do them.

if you need a N2 cert to get into N1 prep classes, may aswell try for it i guess. If you are confident you will pass even if you don't pass well.

Flailing like that is definitely something to be proud of XD it just proves how invested you are in your fandom. Keep it up :P

Yes yes yes that's taiyou no namida XD haha funnily enough, it's like my least favourite (released) NEWS song haha. But the pictures are incredibly pretty. I love the slightly troubled look on shige's face in that one XD so glad i have been only giving away photos i already have, cause damn I wouldn't be able to give them away! I'll look forward to your reply ^^ and don't worry, I can never get enough pictures of ueda boxing. they never ever get old!!

I'm guessing your professor just doesn't want to be too strict with page limits so I think you're alright with however long it takes for you to cover all your arguments.
I was always one that leaned more on conciseness so 5 pages probably would be around what I would aim for lol
Good luck with that!

Congrats on getting such a great score!
It seems like it would be pretty stressful to have to worry about both your uni exams/papers and N2.
If it's feasible to take the N2 at a later date that might be the better route to go.

I was always one that leaned more on conciseness so 5 pages probably would be around what I would aim for lol Me too! Although sometimes I lean on being overly-concise >__> Comments on my papers usually say something like, simple and clear arguments, but could do with more elaboration orz

Thank you! :)
Idk, technically I should be well-prepared for N2 since we'd have finished the N2 grammar guide book for Japanese class by the end of this semester (which is just before JLPT) and I probably can afford the day before to do some quick revision. I guess I am weak around peer pressure because I'll keep on finding reasons for both sides of the argument and end up unable to make a decision, so I just get led around >__>;; (although most of the time it isn't a bad thing, I took N3 because of my friends too and it turned out good ^__^)

Yeah it can be difficult to find the right balance between too little, sufficient, and too much.
Sometimes conciseness has worked out fine and sometimes it didn't.
If you're unsure about the length of the paper and can get a draft done earlier this week maybe you could have the professor or another classmate look it over and then make any revisions as necessary?

It does make sense to take the exam while the material is fresh in your memory. I've made the mistake of waiting too long to take an exam before >.< Ironically, my study habits aren't as good when I have more free time as opposed to when I'm busy.
You'll know best whether you'll be able to handle it so I think either why you go it will be fine.
