Wish for What?

I get comments from those who wish for single living. They have their families around them, the kids to cart off to heavens knows where, the husband who insists that his shirts be picked up at the dry cleaners, the volunteer room-mother status during holiday time is taxing. They all look at me and say…I wish I had your life

though the four single years before i got knocked up were some of the best of my life, i also remember being horribly depressed about the possibility of my loneliness continuing ad infinitum. i remind myself of that when i feel the need to run away these days.

so yeah... i agree that the grass is always greener.

my daughter left me for her father. i still have man and son and dog and two cats. but i miss her. laundry is less, the food bill is less, the laughter is less, the companionship is less. i truly do hear you. my heart aches and rejoices with you. can we ever be satisfied?
