I really wish I had taken better care of my hearing in my first 29 (almost 30) years. Between all of the concerts I've been to, playing bass in several bands, raves and parties, DJing, working around airplane engines, et cetera. my hearing is shit. No. Once you damage your hearing, it never gets better. It involves little hair-like structures in your ear, and once they break off, they're gone forever.

i have a less ringy version of it myself. i am completely deaf when there's any kind of white noise going on in a room. if we're a loud restaurant or party or there's water running or a truck driving past the open window and you speak to me, i can't hear you unless you're close and looking at me

and it happened for the same reasons, i didn't start wearing earplugs to shows until i was in my late 20s. too late.
