Ooh, I've always been a fan of the Eels "Beautiful Freak" album. Don't know if any of the songs on there would be wedding appropriate. You could always go with "Beautiful Freak" which is one of my favourite love songs. Not sure you want to call your new bride a freak, but *I'd* take it as a compliment :)
I've always liked the song "Wildflowers" by Tom Petty. I sort of get the "you shouldn't be with me" vibe from it, which probably isn't the message you want to send, but it's a pretty song that I think is about love and reverence.
Lots of good S&G classics that I'm sure you're aware of. I'm less familiar with Paul Simon's solo stuff.
Haha! The girlfriend just suggested Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting" and I extended the suggestiong to any number of cheesy Bryan Adams hits. Ignore this, really :)
I have always reserved "Least that i can do" by Ron Sexsmith for my wedding, but I'd be willing to share. Other goodies: "Love" by Paul Simon (except for the last few lyrics) "As..." by Stevie Wonder (but it's pretty long) "At Last" by Etta James (classic)
I think I'm going to take note of all these songs and make a "lovey mix tape... thanks for the inspiration.
I've always (well, since I first heard the song) wanted to walk up the aisle to Apocalyptica's version of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. No, it's not metal, it's a beautiful song done on cellos and it rules.
