That was a really interesting article, it's amazing what you don't learn in school. And I think it's interesting that it's not being learned in Japan or the US. I never heard about the extent of that in school in the US or school in Japan.
I was at a small art museum about the bombing of Hiroshima and what came from that, and it was these big panels with really really intense images. One of the things that was depicted was the fact that there were american prisoners of war in Hiroshima when we dropped the bomb, extremely close to where the bomb was dropped. It was just really surprising because I feel like the US does so much to make it seem like dropping the bombs was the only solution ever, and like there was nothing wrong with it.

I know - the truth is that the US just used Hiroshima and Nagasaki as testing sites to see how much destruction a nuclear bomb could really cause. What damage it could actually inflict on people. And I've heard about the fact that there were American POWs there too. It's really sick.

Isn't it also true that those two bombings are the only two nuclear bombings ever? It's sick to know that the US, and many other coutnries, have stocked up on these bombs. No one is going to use them because we know how terrible they are, but then why do we have them? WHY?! GRR!! Money being wasted, and other crap... sick sick sick

So much attention is put on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, though, when Tokyo is so much bigger and was totally demolished, and also many other parts of Japan. People just don't realize how much devastation was really inflicted here. Sick!!
