It was like, 85 degrees on Saturday and I didn't have work, so I decided to go on a nature walk. I saw lots of awes things and of course I had my camera with me. the only thing I'm mad about is I deleted this video I made of mating frogs by accident D: But it's okay, I have a lot of pics.
I went to a park that is near the Brandywine River. There's a pond that has a creek running off it and the creek eventually empties into the river. So on the start of my walk I was at the pond. I crossed to the other side of the pond where this this little concrete dam and I notice these things on top of the dam. I thought they were stones at first, but they turned out to be:
TURTLES 8D They were sunbathing. Unfortunately, the closer I got the more of them started to dive off into the pond. I still got lots of pics though!
Then there was just one little guy left. And he was like "Peace out!"
So I continued along the creek that ran off from the pond. It goes through the woods and I was pretty much walking in the creek the entire time, just taking pics of interesting things along the way.
Then I started to hear all this rustling and I saw these strange white things twitching ahead of me. At first I thought they were plastic bags stuck on tree branches and that maybe I was close to the trail and people were nearby, but it turned out to be a huge heard of deer. They only let me get a few hundered feet from them, but there must have been 10-15. The white was their tails and as I got close, they bleated and ran off. I only got some blurry shots of them. Can you see them?
I came to the end of the creek and began walking the Brandywine, again taking interesting pics as I went.
Then I got to one spot in the river where I was hearing all these weird sounds. I figured they must have been frogs, but I'd never heard a frog make that kind of sound before. And I couldn't see any in the water. However I finally found a whole bunch. And they were mating XD
After that, I went down the trail a bit further and decided to wade out to the center of the river in a really shallow spot. There was kind of an island of rocks, so I sat down there for a minute.
Then I turned back. On my way back to the park I came across all these daffodils along the edge of the woods.
And that was my nature walk. I'm soooo gonna do it again, but I think I may go to a different park and trail next time.
