Jul 03, 2006 11:57

Title: Fall for Me.
Pairing: Akame.
Rating: PG.
Summary: AU. Short chaptered fic.
Notes: This so calls for a sequel just because I ended it abruptly and didn't include what happens afterward like I wanted to, but I guess I'll have to write that after I get back. ^-^;;;

Kame watched as the sakura petals fell, slowly and listlessly. His face contorted into one of wretchedness. It’s been about a month since he had last talked to Jin.

Even when they saw each other in the halls, they avoided each other completely. At first, he tried to speak to the other, but he’d just ignore him and walk away. Somewhere along the way, he had given up. He didn’t even know what he would say to him. But as the sakura started blooming and the seniors animatedly talked about their nearing graduation, Kame couldn’t help but count the days down in misery. In a week from today, Jin would be walking out of the school with his diploma and out of his life forever. He half-wished Jin would just flunk.

Jin had immediately caught his attention when he first arrived at the school. He was one of the most popular kids in school, always laughing and joking around with his friends, the center of attention. He was the star of the school’s soccer team, the life of the party, of the school. But as much as he was attracted to him, he never spared much more than a glance at him from time to time. There’s no way somebody like him would ever be interested in someone like him.

So it had surprised him when Jin had come up to him, challenging him like that out of the blue. He had accepted his challenge immediately without much thought, despite his friend’s snickering and giving him knowing looks. And somewhere along the way during the hours of baseball he spent with Jin, he had wished he would just hit the damned ball. He was curious to see what he wanted from him. But now all this happened and he was confused. At first, he wondered if he should have been a little more careful of the other’s intentions. But with what Uchi, and Yamashita-sempai had told him, and Nishikido-sempai apologizing and begging him to make up with Jin almost everyday, he was starting to regret letting his emotions take over, and for not being strong enough to trust him like he should have. He pursed his lips, and sighed inwardly.

Reluctantly, he walked back to his classroom. His stopped in his tracks when he noticed something on his desk. There was a pink gift bag on it, with a letter sitting next to it. He eyed the letter curiously, and warily picked it up to open.

“Meet me at the soccer field.”

Soccer? He instinctively grabbed at the bag and took out what was inside. It was a pair of jeans, the ones he had wanted.

He immediately ran out of the classroom.

Jin lifted the ball fluidly, trying to fight the anxiousness he felt waiting for Kame to show up - if he showed up.

“Jin...”

Jin turned to see the other approaching him uncertainly and forced a smile at him, “Challenge me to soccer.”

“Huh?” He asked, confusion written all over his face.

“If you could score a point against me, I’ll give you something.”

Kame pursed his lips in thought, “Alright.” He took his blazer off and tossed it to the side.

Jin smirked and started taking the ball away from him. Kame went after him. He wasn’t the ace point getter for any reason, Kame reflected as he fought to get the ball from the other. He wouldn’t even let him touch it. But he wasn’t about to give in. If Jin can go till sunset to get a hit from him, then he could go just as long for Jin or even longer. He was determined to get a goal from him.

Kame was a natural athlete at any sports; he could play almost any sports decently. Even then, he knew he would never match up to someone who dedicated themselves to the game. His legs weren’t holding up as well with its strenuous use either. He was trying to think of a logical plan to get the ball from Jin, when the other tapped the ball a little too strongly. It was a brief miss, but Kame didn’t miss it. He instinctively kicked the ball away and chased after it, determined to get it before Jin did. And he barely got it away from the other, kicking it farther along the field to the goal.

“Score!” he smiled at the older boy.

Jin laughed, “I wish I could card you... You’re horrible.” He went to the bench and pulled something out of his duffle bag, he walked over to Kame and took his hand in his and put it in his hand, closing it.

“Take care of it,” he said walking away, duffel bag on shoulder.

Kame looked at Jin in confusion and hesitantly opened his hand.

It was his second button.

He impulsively ran after him and grabbed him by the shoulder, “You egoist, you made me do all that for this...?” He looked away embarrassedly, “At least give me a kiss.”

Jin blinked, opening his mouth to say something and closing it back shut. He studied Kame’s face looking for any signs of him joking, but found none. He smiled and settled for grabbing Kame by the wrist and pulling him up into a kiss. Kame instantly melted into the kiss, wrapping his arms around the older boy’s neck, responding to the rough, hungry kiss that was being given to him. Jin pulled away, panting heavily and still dazed by that fact that he had just kissed the one he had been longing for, for so long. He broke into a grin, and started heading off the field, expecting the other to follow him.

He stopped and turned around when he noticed that he didn’t but rather, was on all fours running his hands through the grass, “Kazuya, what are you doing?”

“Your button, I dropped it.”

“You what!?” Jin nearly shouted.

Kame pouted, looking up at him, “Help me find it.”

Jin sighed. This was the guy he fell in love with, wasn’t he? He grabbed Kame for another short kiss before he started helping look around for it.

“Found it!” Kame declared, holding it up for Jin to see.

“If you lose that again, we’re through. You hear me?”

Kame laughed, taking off his second button and replacing it with Jin’s, “Then I better put it where I’d never lose it.”

He glanced at the button in his hand, and reached for Jin’s collar, putting his button on his blazer, “If you lose that, I’ll kill you.”

Jin laughed, “Love you too.”

Kame kissed Jin on the cheek, and pulled on his hands, “I’m thirsty, I want something to drink.”

“You want me to buy it, don’t you?”

Extras:
Yamashita groaned, rubbing at his temples profusely, “Jin, stop! I don’t want to hear it! Go call up your boyfriend and stop informing me of... I don’t care what he tasted like... or how his lips felt. He what? No, I don’t need to know about... Your hands shouldn’t have been there in the first place! Jin, I’m hanging up now. And don’t you dare call me back!”

That was an abrupt end wasn't it? I never got to write about what happened after graduation. ^-^;;; Oh well, I'll get to that later along with the editing. I just wanted to explain what the "second button" is for people who aren't familiar with the tradition. In Japan, girls ask guys for the second button of the one she likes. It's supposed to be special because it's the button closest to the heart. In turn, a guy could give his button to the girl he likes. Cute tradition, don't you think?
