I'm glad you and Mom are okay and that no sparks came across the fence. It's ironic that an electrical problem with an AC would start a fire.
YOUR roof looks in quite good shape for that of a 40+ year old house!
As for policy, you know how I feel about bureaucracy. I'd have been telling them about how I used the time to work out a bit in my Banabatcave before getting into my Batpod and emerging on 38th from my sikrit subterranean complex of tunnels whose termini are those potholes that the city of Indianapolis thankfully has never filled in.

And the potholes actually DO get filled in...and then we just get new ones. LOL.
If I sped to work through the sekrit exit or used my magikal Focus to plow over the fire trucks and created a warp tunnel through time to get to work early, would that be enough, do you think? I'd still have to catch up on all those old jobs that need to be scheduled and follow ups and stuff... Ay. :P

We'll be getting married next June, nothing fancy this time, just something downtown, because I have to plan a move across a few states. We'll end up doing something nicer later.

The neighbor who said he would send some pics...well, his pics turned out to not really be that good, so I'll have to get some of my own, but basically the other house is standing...just burnt out mostly in the back and center. Still, we're lucky, and it could've been so much worse.
