Moving down the street? That's kinda... odd... can you set up some sort of conveyor belt system to just roll your stuff over like the Beer Store?
Larger birds are usually more bold and greedy... I had a seagull walk up fairly close to me and eye me like it was expecting food once... i almost got up and chased it away...
