Actually, I was tongue in cheek commenting on the way Applegate wrote the sentence that leaves one with the impression all you have to do is to multiply your current weight by 11 to achieve the weight loss.
I went to fast food too often. Now, I take time to make nice meals for myself. It's been 10 years of widowhood and -- finally -- I want to play in the game of life again, maybe smell some aftershave or some such one more time, you know?
The botanic garden which opens at 7am to members, so can get an outside walk or run in there before the heat sets in. Also, have access to an indoor track and weight room free of charge. And, I'm walking up the 7 flights to my apartment now instead of riding the elevator. Our grounds are suitable for walking, too, and lovely. This time next year I should be able to see my collar bones!
I've made many a resolution but never a decision, realizing that this change is not 'just until' but a new way of being, with, hopefully, weight loss and better physical condition as a byproduct.

My motto is "eat less, move more" which unfortunately is very easy to say and it's the doing I trip up on.

i've started riding my bike to work a few times a week when it's beautiful out. Wisconsin (sometimes) has such a beautiful Spring!
