Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

I love my family. They made me a huge breakfast this morning, a homemade chocolate pie for later and took me to Star Trek.

Verdict: Star Trek = Made of Win. And I say this a someone who is not a fan of the original series, but probably has seen every episode at one time or another thanks to my ( Read more... )

Winona was Spock's mom, lol. I think they rubbed some dirt on her face or something. Didn't really enjoy her performance.

But fuck yeah, I want to see that movie again, and own it on blueray.

I loved how Chris Pine would do little Shatner mannerisms like walking backwards. :D

Ouch! I thought Winona Ryder was too young to be Spock's mom. I'd say maybe she should fire her agent, but I don't think she's been in a money making film in years.

Oh, I'm definitely getting the DVD.

lol, I didn't recognize Winona Ryder at all. You're probably right, though.

We both have such thoughtful families!

The first time I watched it, I thought wow, Spock's mum sounds like Winona Ryder. And then the credits went up and her name was there and I was all o.O

So the second time I saw it, I kept staring at her for every scene she was in, and it soo doesn't look like her. I hope it was makeup, cuz if not, she's aged pretty damn fast in the past few years.

Happy mother's day! :D

I saw a picture of Winona recently, and she looks the same as she always has: Waify, short hair, dressed head-to-toe in black. It must be the costuming and make-up because I didn't recognize her at all. Weird casting; she's only 37. Technically she could be Spock's mother, but that's pushing it.
