Wisconsin Rep. Fred Clark runs light, hits cyclistI like that he, "just was not paying attention." Nice one. There's some sort of joke in here about politicians never paying attention to the peons around them, but I'm too horrified to make it. Yikes.
Sadly, the number of people that blow through red lights and stop signs around here is insane. And yield signs may be worse, since people with a sense of entitelement already feel they have the right of way, so "yield to circle traffic" turns into "just floor it, they'll stop for you, probably."

There is no respect for cyclists, which is ridiculous. I can't tell you how many times the cars don't change lanes to pass me - there are three lanes going each way and I ride during low traffic times.

It's so disgusting!

According to the TV station that broadcast the video, the cyclist (Richard Rideout) was another state employee.

And for kbhakkoah, I used to have people passing me with an only an inch or two to spare until I started riding in the center of the lane when there's a passing lane.

Wow, the comments on that article are infuriating at best. So many people complaining about cyclists not obeying the laws of the road and completely ignoring the fact that it was the SUV that ran the red light.
