Day 15
In your own space, write a love letter to Fandom in general, to a particular fandom, to a trope, a relationship, a character, or to your flist/circle/followers. Share you love and squee as loud as you want to. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so
So, fandom. I know it seems like maybe the love has faded. I never call, I rarely write. But know that despite that, my love is as strong as ever. I love that you're there when I need a pick-me-up, a quiet moment, something funny or heartwarming or sad or ridiculous. The thrill of a new fanwork, or comfort of something familiar. Whatever my mood, I know I'll find something that fits.
I love that you're so varied, that there are so so many varieties of fandom, of works, genres, communities, challenges. The number of ways to be fannish is seemingly limitless. It's wonderful.
I love how you bring people together. Maybe initially it's bonding over a show, a song. a band, a book. But it doesn't stop there. I've seen so many folks talk about how fandom helped them, how people supported them, emotionally, financially, creatively. The community, the found family - it's so powerful, and nothing short of extraordinary. I'm so lucky to have found the folks I have - some of the best, most amazing people I've ever met.
So know that even if I don't post as much as I have in the past, I'm still here for you, as you are for me. That I count myself lucky to have found such a magical place as the fannish world. How grateful I am each and every day for you. That I love you, and everything you've brought. That you continue to bring.
All my love,
miz
