For a minute I thought you were serious... I know people who've been seriously hurt doing that race... mostly though I know people who've grown stupid moustaches just to get a half mile start!

What you don't get from the pictures is how cold it is. Once you get wet various appendages will freeze including fingers, ears, often toes and worst of all that male dangly thing. Once you are that cold, crying is a reasonable behavior...
