Brian Kinney is very intriguing to me; on one hand, he seems like a jackass who couldn't care less about anyone but himself. And he kind of is..on the other hand, he's (so to speak) straight-forward (if a bit tactless), strong-willed (heterosexist norms? MONOGAMY? fuck that noise!) and very loyal to those he cares about.

I especially enjoy when he faces off with the more PC gay types in Pittsburgh, but also when someone like Debbie has to essentially smack him upside the head every so often.

Robert Gant (Zen Ben) is in a hilarious parody of those cheesy instructional short films from the '50s called Billy's Dad is a Fudge Packer!. Do check it out.

I think that's why the transition from one version to the other is difficult. Brian pretends to be a cold heartless self-centred cunt so he won't be hurt; Stuart... well, he really is a cold heartless self-centred cunt :D Obviously it makes sense since Stuart has 10 episodes to evolve and Brian, 5 seasons. But I guess QAFUS works better, at the beginning, if you haven't watched QAFUK and don't know what to expect.

Brian has a sense of humour, too --even if it's black as Hades. And his dynamics with the other characters are fascinating. Those pot-smoking sessions with Debbie... :D

Golly! That was fun :D I never would have recognised him. Where the hell is that from anyway?

yaaay, well now, this is good news!!

So pleased you stuck with it. The crack addiction does develop.

So you're up to Season 4? One of my fave eps is the totally emo ep in, S3 I think temmet is love! Agrees, And debbie is just totally deserving of her place as head hag.

Been thinking about this show lately, in USA started missing it some more and watched an ep of it on the plane (well the good bits...so my battery wouldnt flatten you see ;)) on the way home.

mmmm

LOL, extra perk, being able to finally get what you're on about in so many of those icons!

Addictive indeed, I've finished the whole run. I just couldn't put it down. Then when it was over I felt all pouty, so I googled and came up with the blooper vids and such, that was cute and cheery. Ted not kicking it really did it for me, I guess --I don't think I'd have continued watching otherwise.

I hope I never have a gay son, because then it'd be the red wig and flair buttons for MC. Scary thought.

So now we have yet another slashdom to share, lol. Any recs welcome. I suppose I should get at least one QAFUS icon --hmm...

As much as I got into QAF, spoilers, icons, pics and all, I never did get into the fic or the 'fandom' (ie forums, though did post at the LJ comm). It, I dunno there was something about it. I have some great QAF friends, but the fandom itself wasnt my place, I dont want to say it was elitist, but I guess I just didnt feel home there. Twas one of the few places I just lurked. ...maybe I didnt feel 'informed' enough about useless trivia to be able to participate they way I can with bo.

and lol yes, yaaaaay, for teh icon understanding ;)

None of the QAF icons I make ever came out any good, I know paddies made stellar sexy icons and funny things like the humpage one I use, also url_girl is pretty great.
