I cannot convey the enormity of my pleasure at owning a table. I have yet to acquire a bed or a chair but to me the table alone is an amazing piece of modern technology at the moment. The simple pleasures, right

Because I've managed to develop myself a somewhat regular sleeping rhythm, I've gotten into reading books during my work trips (roughly 1 hour to direction). I suppose it takes quite a bit time to transport yourself around Tokyo, so it's great to have a good book with you as you go. :)
Yes, it seems to take atleast an hour to get anywhere in Tokyo. The time on the train, at least, is good reading time. I've gone through more paper books these past few months than in the entire previous year.
I'm never TRULY spontaneous. I tend to make ridiculously complicated contingency plans for everything so that nothing is a surprise. My seeming impulse buys are often purchases planned months in advance, for instance. It is a little sad, if generally responsible. You are NOT alone! XD
I will! My bed doesn't arrive until after camp and I'll be taking photos then. <3
I'm sad you missed the march. You could have met the mysterious unicorns that are Japanese gay people. They hide among us, rarely revealing their horns. To take the metaphor into weird territory.
Usually I'm not a fan of pride marches, usually they end up with lots of half naked people mixed in with the banner bearers. Which nice as it is, isn't really disproving the stereotype of gay people being debauched etc. I dunno...my best friend hates my opinion on the matter, she borders on militant. I'm more of a passive gay, as you know.
But in Japan, it's probably more necessary. As the article on arama said, there are a lot of people living dual lives, or just living lies. It's sad, there really needs to be a revolution on that front in Japan. But I can't see it happening soon.
On a tangibly related note, my friend know a male Japanese fashion student studying in London, who is hot. I must meet this person. :I
This is exactly what Hotaru/Stephanie said to me when she pointed out when and where gay pride was. "You could find the unicorns!" XD I'm sad I missed it too. But I took that time to prepare for camp and after how exhausting camp was, I'm glad I did take that time. Hopefully they'll actually do one next year and I'll be able to go to that.
No, I get what you mean. Generally, I agree with your philosophy here on the impact such a spectacle must have on outsiders, but I still love the idea of a flashy celebration. I have no idea what it must be like to do the gay thing in Japan. :/ That article in arama was painful to read. (Also, OMG does everyone read arama now??)
*snort* YES! You do. The end. ~.^ ...though Japan is a country that produces hetero, baby producing male hair dressers, so...
It was awesome! Will write about it after I rest up.
Status update: My friend talked to said guy on the internet about boys, with intention to pimp me out. But the guy has some guy back home in Japan. Unicorns exist, but they only ever mate with other unicorns! That's how they keep the lineage going, like European royalty. Sad.
Gotta keep up on my Japanese entertainment news~ Although I'm really bad about reading it all lately, takes too much time between that and other communities ;-;
