Chapter Twenty-One)
Home now, busy day. UWE was great though, hope I get in!
“No, I can’t let you do this. It’s not doing me any harm, or you. Just let it be ok?” Rose stood up, twisting around to look at the others in the room.
“Rose, we’ve been through this before it’s not safe!” Owen got up from his chair, pushing it behind him, “I’m fed up of talking about this, we either get this sorted now or I give up.”
“Owen, sit down! Rose you too!” Jack barked, the pair sat down immediately looking up at him like scorned puppies. “We will get this sorted. Rose, we should have done this long ago, when we first found you.”
“Yeah, well you didn’t, so what are you going to do?” Rose snapped back.
“Rose, calm down. They won’t hurt you.” Chris whispered in her ear, catching her hand before she went to lift it towards Jack.
“You don’t know Torchwood, Chris.” Rose looked from him to Jack, “I have an alien inside me and they will do whatever it takes to get it out of me.”
Rose looked straight into Jack’s eyes, “They’ll kill me if they have to. And I’m not letting them do that.”
Chris let go of her hand, he pushed his chair back and watched the sparks between Rose and Jack. Neither was going to back down to the other.
“We will try our hardest for that not to happen.” Jack spoke, almost too calm for anyone to believe.
The rest of the team watched as he started out of the boardroom after a large sign, “Ianto, with me.” He stopped by the doorway then once he saw Ianto start after him, he paced his way to his office.
Rose dropped her head to the table as the others filtered out, this isn’t going to work.
You need to make it work, Rose. I need you, and you need me.

“Yes sir?” Ianto closed the door to Jack’s office and watched as the captain went around to his desk.
“What did Rose say to you? In the basement, for you to act like that?” Jack shuffled a few pieces of paper that probably should have been completed and archived weeks ago. He never looked up at Ianto.
“Nothing, we were just talking.”
“Then why did you run off? You know the procedures, you do not let yourself be compromised. What if something had happened down there?” Jack let out a sign. “If she had done something to you when the heat signals disappeared. We don’t know what she is capable of.”
“She didn’t try anything, Jack. Nothing happened and we were fine. She just wanted a minute away from all this stress. She’s just 18, maybe you forgot that.”
“Don’t start acting like that Ianto. I know full well of her age and that is why she needs us protecting her and not jeopardising her!” Jack thumped his fist on the desk making Ianto jump.
