Oh, What a Night!

Jul 30, 2008 09:55

I saw Jersey Boys with my parents last night. I don't want to say too much about the show, since I think I liked it a lot better because I knew very little about Frankie Valli and the band. But it really was an incredible musical. I'm normally not a big fan of jukebox musicals, but in this case, it makes sense, since it's a biomusical, and with a ( Read more... )

I don't recognize Bennigan's or Steak and Ale, so I doubt that they had much of a presence in Canada (if any).

I think that George Bush comes pretty close to being the worst president. But perhaps I'm biased.

Setting aside the commercials, I suppose that one could ask if The Wizard of Oz in itself is appropriate for children? How many impressionable young minds have turned gay because of that song about rainbows?

Cheers,

Bennigan's was a causal dining chain, similar to Friday's and Applebee's. Their original gimmick was that they were supposed to be a recreation of an Irish pub, but aside from a few scattered shamrocks here and there, that concept had pretty much been abandoned. Apparently, they were really good until the early 90s, when, in a cost saving move, they significantly downgraded the quality of their food. Oops ( ... )

You didn't really miss much by missing Bennigan's. Steak and Ale was pretty good, but you can live without eating there, as well (indeed, you can probably live longer for not eating there ( ... )

I hardly call this country united.

Hell, the ONLY thing that unifies the Democratic Party is their hatred of Republicans.

Hey, Nick Jonas is cute.

Michael Phelps isn't anything special.

I've never heard of Steak and Ale, and never been to a Bennigan's. But I think my Mom really liked going there when she was younger, after work or class.

Eh...I can usually manage to have lustful thoughts for any male between 15 18 and 35, but for some reason, I have to work extra hard for the Jonases. Maybe it's their "hipper than thou" look in most of their publicity photos, but for some reason...though, looking at some of the other photos on the net, I can definitely see some potential. OK, I won't kick any of them out of bed (well, I would the underage one).

As for Michael Phelps, I respectfully disagree. I'd like nothing more than to take off that tiny Speedo...with my teeth.

In the early 80s, Bennigan's was a very popular gathering place. I think the food quality was much better back then.
