No Angel In My House!!

So this week’s lecture was quite controversial wasn’t it! I recall sitting there and feeling like I was being put into a box of how women were and how women are. It made me think a lot.

Virginia Woolf in her “Professions for Women” spoke out against this Angel in the house. She was, as Michael said in the lecture, trying to ( Read more... )

Hey Shell I totally agree. During the lecture it disappointed me to hear some (most) girls say that they dress to impress others. I like to think I dress for myself and if other people like it, lucky them. hahaha! I like to think that I don't have an angel in my house but I can see that it is present in society labelling people. Like everyone I get labelled too and to be honest I think we all subconsciously label other people too. However, generally when we get to know a person these labels disappear and we can see that person for who they are and not how hey dress or act. You obviously haven't read my entry at all. It in fact defends people's individuality and their right to be who they are without being judged by others.

The whole point of this online journal site is for expression, which is actually a part of university assessment. So the point is rather that I have a life, and an opinion, which I am free to express, just as everyone else is.

So thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts.
