Literature Entry Week 8
Wow the end of week eight means only four weeks to go! I’m actually really enjoying this semester’s work (with the exception of the Conrad/Yeats essay - was not a big fan).

You have so many interesting ideas. I really like your point “literature that we have been studying has always had that Big Brother idea present without us even realising.” It’s so true. Thorugh out the texts that we have studed this year their always seems to be the consistent theme of conformity to an unseen entity or ideal. IT got me thinking how much we as a society are subjected to it now. How often do we conform to what other people view to be socially acceptable, and how readily do we accept what were are told because of fear of things like Terrorism, retribution or social isolation. Do you think that was an element of what Woolf was pointing out in ‘Professions for Women?’
