Tag Team Tales

I wrote a 15+K first draft in 22 days at my Mothership <> between February 14 and March 6. March 7th I was back at Starbucks, now the ONLY place I can write because my muse hates me.

Some teenagers sitting behind me <> gave me an idea for ANOTHER book.  Which I have also started to write. Yes, tag team tales. When I go stale on one, I can work on ( Read more... )

Ha, you're so funny. You know, you can always reject your characters back. Or at least give them a week's detention.

I tried to write 2 novels at once and found I didn't have enough time. I don't do "I'm bored with this, I'll work on the other one." I do "I'm bored with this, I'll go play Guitar Hero."

Mmm. Well, your characters are talking to you. Tell them to stop picking on you and to tell their story. You're tired of their behavior. :)

What awesome advice!!!!

I am so going to do that, and add a virtual slapfest. Um, is that character abuse?

Thanks!

True, so very true!

Stubborn, lazy, opinionated, sulky...wait, that's all me, too.

Never mind.

Your muse doesn't hate you--she just like the smell of espresso! :)

I think I'm always doing the juggling thing, and I've learned to make sure I'm not at the same point on two different projects--if I'm revising one, I have to be drafting the other. I can't be revising both or drafting both. But sometimes it just is all too much and I have to set one or the other aside anyway. That's just me, though.

Characters can be brutal. Little buggers wake me up in the middle of the night demanding their time...

My juggling gets me in trouble all the time. I have a bad habit of throwing roadblocks in my own way, in the mistaken belief of being organizingly creative.

As for waking up in the middle of the night. My family got me one of those pens where you click it and the tip lights up so you can see what you're writing in the dark. ::No, not Levenger, though I bet they have one.::

Sadly, often on reading my notes the next morning, it appears that my sleeping creative subconscious was on crack.

Yeah--fictional people can be WAY eviller than real ones. :)
