Bandwagon, get.

So, I've pretty much realised that if somebody is willing to chat with me in comments, I can and will continue to reply almost indefinitely. Is that a bad thing? And as soon as the town library opens up again, I will be all over those book recs, so thanks everybody who offered their suggestions. You guys are awesome!

Hells yeah it is :D

Kelly/Thane? Huh. It's not really a pairing I've ever really thought about, or even really heard about. I guess it could be interesting, even just platonically, because Kelly strikes me very much as an extrovert - but one who is outgoing without being terribly obnoxious. I sort of get the idea that if Shepard couldn't/wasn't willing to spend time with Thane and, I don't know, 'integrate' him into the team, then Kelly would be a great second choice.

Even if it didn't end up as a romantic relationship, I think I could see them as friends, sitting in a corner somewhere quietly chatting. I think I see them more as platonic than anything else, though. So, yeah, interesting. Anything else you want to ask about?

There was a fic with them as a set in the background, it was very interesting to read, I'd have to find it for you.

How about Skydive/anyone? (that poor guy never gets anyone.)

...wait a minute. I think I remember something like that. It was a femShep/Garrus, wasn't it, going through ME2? Or am I thinking of something else?

Hehe, poor Skydive. I think it's because he's so often just characterised as 'the quiet one', or 'the boring intellectual one', so he gets shoved aside when dealing with the Aerialbots (not that I'm not guilty of that because, boy, is his voice hard for me to really capture!). So, um, I definitely like Skydive/Aerialbots in various degrees and combinations, in some weird mix of brother/lover whatever whatever. But outside of his gestalt, I really, really don't know. Poor Skydive.

Swindle/First Aid

...is totally canon as of 'The Ultimate Weapon', and doesn't get anywhere near enough love. Oh wait, it said rant, didn't it? :P

But, yes. I think it was Ultimate Weapon that first made me go 'oh, hey, how about that'. I just think that they play off each other in a really interesting way - Swindle's the smooth-talking con-man with no morals, while First Aid's probably the nicest person alive, and a good, morally upstanding, highly ethical doctor. So, let's throw two complete opposites together and see what we get, hey?

I like them as a pairing - it's not going to be a healthy, safe or nice one, and it's probably not going to last, but while it does it's bound to be interesting - but I also just like to see them interact, because they're so different, and different is fun.

Darn it, I'm not very good at the articulation today :|

Their dynamic is so very, very interesting. Apart from the general dynamic of the Aerialbots as a gestalt, or even subordinate/leader (not that I think gestalts play out as a military understanding of that type of relationship, but that's a whole 'nother thing right there), you've got a passenger jet who's afraid of heights, and the only fighter jet among the flock who was jerk enough to call him on it. We know Slingshot has issues with Silverbolt's leadership canonically - at least in the beginning of the Aerialbots lives (I don't think it's really resolved until after 'War Dawn'?) - and even if he gets a bit better about it afterwards, it's highly unlikely those issues are just going to go away completely ( ... )
