A Filking Dilemma

 I need to write a Christmas filk...for a couple of reasons.

1)  I would like to submit something to PotterCast, seeing as how Sue is freaking awesome and pimped Swish and Filk on the show.

2)  I'd like to submit something to FilkCast and GalleryCast, because I love their show and want to support them by sending in a filk.

I love Harry Connick Jr. That's a good suggestion! I am going to download Harry Connick Jr's version for my "please, help me find some Christmas spirit through good music" annual compilation disk, for sure!

I had a lot of fun with "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," last year. But if you don't want to be a copycat, I think you could probably play off of sentimentality with something like White Christmas or I'll Be Home for Christmas... maybe even tie it in with Godric's Hollow? If you twisted my arm, I might be willing to collaborate.

Becky, you rock. I love "I'll Be Home For Christmas"...I have been toying with that one in my head for about 2 weeks now. But, everytime I read the lyrics I get to thinking, "There isn't anything I would change. It's perfect for Harry as it is." Hmph.

As for the collaboration twisting...you had better be careful. An offer like that cannot be revoked. *mwahahahahaha*

Well, *said shyly* I did write a couple last year for the Yule Ball event which you can use or change around if you'd like. One was "Must Be Albus" to the tune of "Must Be Santa" and the other was "All I Want For Christmas is My Two Front Teeth," (as sung by Hermione after getting hexed by Draco). I think they're still in the Special Archives on the Lounge if you want to use them.

you are absolutely right! God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen is a great song. We filked it last year and called it "No Rest For Wizardkind". It was on PotterCast's Holiday Filk show last year. But, I have to say that there are a thousand OTHER possibilities for that song! Great suggestion! Thank you!
