My 25-year-old little sister called tonight. She has melanoma--skin cancer. I think she's going to OK, but I am so not happy about this. I wish she had listened to me about the tanning beds she loved so much.

I'm sad, and worried.

P.S. This is the unmarried, non-pregnant sister.

This is the sister that looks BROWN in all the wedding photos, and I mentioned at your other sister's wedding that you could tell which one had been out in the sun. I'm sorry it happened, but I can't say I'm surprised.

When my mom still taught, she would leave skin cancer pamphlets on the desk of the supertanned students in her classes.

It's Sue. She has has to have surgery on her back.

I wish her and you the best. I totally know that cancer sucks. All we can do is send our love and care for those we love.
