I really love Oregon Scientific. Sometimes I want to order stuff just because it's cool, not because I need it.

My problem with that is Sciplus. But I just leave those on the desk and look at them once a week for a few weeks and if they're not necessary, I throw the ads away.

I like the setting, too, and that it shows you if, for some reason, it isn't getting info from there.

I was born almost "blind" -- what the child psych told my mother when she took me to see him -- so I can't see clearly much farther than my nose. I can see acceptably for another few yards. So the projection isn't very helpful.

I haven't worn a watch since I first started the consulting in 1980. I put my watch in to be cleaned and still knew the times; the company people were fascinated and that's always good when they're going to pay me a lot of money. I do actually have the watch -- it still fits -- but I can still tell time in about 5 minutes range, so I don't wear it.

Huh. That's really cute ... and the whole "takes the temperature" thing would be useful...

I have a temp/clock on the table next to my computer and this and the Oregon one are frequently the same while the temp of the electronic heat pump/air handler is usually lower.

I still haven't figured out the logic (if any) of my window AC -- the temp it claims seems to have no relationship at all to the internal temperature, external temperature, or the temperature that it's theoretically set at...

The heat pump/air handler electronic control has bad taste -- if you put the heat to 74 and the condo gets hotter than that, it doesn't care. It got it to 74, didn't it? The opposite with the cold so when I realize I feel too cold or hot, I have to go jigger with the control.
