More Excitement

I went to the Kaiser Fair Oaks office on Thursday to have my knee checked, but I had a massive headache. I got put into an ambulance, taken to a not-very-local hospital, and had tests for a stroke eval. They think I'm probably okay. Yesterday was the first day without more headaches, so I went grocery shopping today and it was almost a disaster ( Read more... )

Oh my, that's not good. Did they decide that you had had a stroke but no sequelae, or that you had not had a stroke?

Probably a migraine set -- I haven't had one for a long time, but I suppose that could be it. The damn dog upstairs is dashing around and I don't get much sleep these days.

This is very, very sad. Marilee was a good friend to me, though we never met in person.

She made the most of her life, and whatever it gave her.

Well, I can use the grocery's delivery company for food, just plan better and have cat stuff be a quarter of the order. But I'm beginning to wonder about other stuff.

Oh, lord, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this crap. Besides figuring that you're "probably okay" did they have any suggestions or ideas as to what was/is happening?

Were today's problems connected with the headaches at all? Did you get one in the middle of the trip? How are you now?

Thinking of you.

Migraines, they think. I think I'm just not eating enough, which is still difficult. I haven't had headaches for the last three days and it's going to be really wet (we're *just* too south for snow today), I'm going to stay home. Thanks. :)

Oh, hell. Migraines are miserable sumbitches; I'm a fellow sufferer. Here's hoping that yours stay away, either for good or for as long as possible. You probably know what your particular triggers are, and I hope you can avoid them.

Any word on finding out if the city has services that can help you out?

Most days, I'm awake 6 hours only in a batch. I signed on to email my neurologist and see 1) if she has an idea of how to get to Tysons, which is not close -- a lot of Kaiser specialists are there now, and 2) how to be safe driving that far. I'm going to see if the oldest (post college) son of bookclub friends would be able to take me to the five doctors I'm supposed to see in Tysons.

No idea what caused the headaches?

Migraines. I think it can be the dogs, but the city had to decrease the ACOs because we're short of money and they don't work at the time the dogs are so noisy.
