Are you referring to the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack? Well, a soundtrack is an album if you really think about it. It's a collection of songs, written and/or performed by the same people or for the same project. Songs on regular albums of any genre are not always "real" either. Lots of times songwriters come up with what they do out of pure fiction as well.
