You boys are so crazy... I was really looking forward to playing Smash Bros with you guys and then you all bailed on me. Biggest boo face! And to make video game lists at that! ;)

And nice Harry Potter reference :)

Eh, Adam wanted to play his brand new game. Not enough interest I guess. We should before the semester ends, definitely

You're so young.

Most of those games are after my time, although I've recently jumped back into gaming with the Wii.

At the time Goldeneye came out, I was playing games like Quake II and Tribes. It really sucked compared to them, and I just felt it was unplayable. I never understood the appeal.

I Own SSB: Melee, but it never really appealed to me either.

And no, Super Mario World is not better than Super Mario 3. Everybody knows that. Duh.

See, I can understand about Goldeneye. Like I said, Shadows of the Empire was my first shooter, haha. I wasn't brought up on the PC classics. Owning Smash Bros. and not understanding the appeal, however, is downright heresy. I and many of my friends all agree that it's the best multiplayer game ever made. Matt, I know you have friends. And a wife! You should be smashing it up.

Sorry, just my opinion about SMW : ) Let's not get into a n3rdw4r! SMB3 was close to making the list.

Oh and about being young, yeah. Even my friends who are my age were gaming more when they were younger than I was. I started playing games in 1993, but not more seriously until the N64 came out.

I disagree with how high up on the list you placed Chrono Trigger. I don't even see Katamari Damacy, Gran Turismo, Forza, or Superman 64 (okay that last one was a joke) on your list.

The best reason for those not being on there is that I've never played them. Remember, I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means!

You can disagree about Chrono Trigger, but I'd assume it didn't register surprise or anything. It's still regarded as one of the best RPG's ever made. It's one of the few games on the list that transcended just being a great game and became an "experience," or simply just "part of my frikkin childhood." Don't get me started on how unbelievable that game is.

That being said, there's a lot of subjective influence: it was my first RPG. To this day the number of RPG's I've played all the way through can be counted on two hands. I'm still pretty convinced by other people's responses to the game that it really does stand out.

Mitch, time for you to make a list.

Gran Turismo definitely needs to be in the top 5. I did notice a lack of Sega and early PS1 games.

need i mention sonic

i'm a little skeptical about your list. haha. mostly because you left off the greatest video game of all time - legend of zelda: a link to the past. & i almost don't think games like guitar hero should be put in the same category with kickass rpgs. not that they aren't fun, but they really lack the ingenuity of, you know, real video games.

I disagree. Have you ever played guitar hero? I think it's one of the most ingenious video games I've ever touched. The way the controller works with the game literally could not have been more perfectly executed. If I sit down and think about it, I really cannot conceive of a better way to simulate playing guitar on a console.

And I've only played half of Link to the Past.... *ducks*
