Today we are going from
this:
to this:

Photoshop CS2
Using Selective Colouring and Curves
not transferable

Lets first start out with our base

Depending on what picture you use, you might want to duplicate it and set it to Screen, but for this picture I'm just leaving it alone.

Now you are going to add the first Selective Colouring layer (Layers>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Colour)

REDS
Cyan: -100
Yellow: +30

YELLOWS
Cyan: -80
Yellow: +10

NEUTRALS
Yellow: +30
Black: -10

Your icon should look like this.

Then add another Selective Colouring layer (Layers>New Adjustment Layer>Selective Colour)

REDS
Cyan: -80
Yellow: +35

YELLOWS
Cyan: -75
Yellow: +8

NEUTRALS
Cyan: +22
Yellow: +5
Black: -10

Now your icon should look like this

Now you are go to add a Curves layer (Layers>New Adjustment Layer>Curves)
{This is also the step that you should play around with to get different effects}
[RED]
Point One
Input: 244
Output: 255

Point Two
Input: 0
Output: 6

[BLUE]
Point One
Input: 61
Output: 0

Point Two
Input: 122
Output: 135

Point Three
Input: 191
Output: 255

And voila you're done!

With this tutorial it's really best if you fool around with it.
This tutorial was made for this picture and might look like CRAP on other pictures.
