I wonder if the curriculum has been tailored to avoid giving possible offense. That seems to be happening more and more, but I wouldn't have expected it at this level.

It reminds me of public high school biology class when my teacher was like "ok, so I have to teach evolution theory in this class, I'm not making you believe it, I don't have time for creationism debate this year so everyone stay calm please and now let's talk about plants"

-- because we do have a LOT of material to cover in nursing classes that meet once a week and a lot of topics we only cover briefly. My profs really focus on what will be on our state boards. I can see how this might not be emphasized heavily on the NCLEX, but it's still a big deal for women's health. Maybe these drugs are covered in more detail in masters level courses because NPs get prescriptive authority. I hope.

I agree, this seems like pretty basic medical information that anyone in nursing school should be expected to know. And AMEN to your last sentence, for real.
