Reaction Post - "The Time of the Doctor"
I have spent the last 48 hours watching every episode of SM's Who being rerun on BBCA. The more I watch, the more confused I get. It seems like every single episode of his that I watch makes less and less sense, no matter how many times I watch it. I also noticed that while I can virtually quote episodes from the Nine and Ten eras...most of the Eleven episodes, I only vaguely remembered.
As for "The Time of the Doctor"...ummmm...I'm still trying to decide if it is even worthy of a 'ho, hum.'
The script made no sense (as usual) and Moffat's habit of setting his version of Who above everything that came before it is getting to be nauseating. If someone had only ever watched Moffat's Who they would think there was never anything thing else. Moffat would have NOTHING if it were not for the brilliance and genius of all those who contributed BEFORE he took the helm of the series.
I sat through the 'farewell to Matt Smith' (read, worship to Moffat's Eleven), and barely managed to hold down my dinner. Why is Russell T Davies not being given any credit at all for resurrecting the series back in 2005? If that had not happened Moffat would have nothing to work with.
Twelve looks mildly interesting. If he gets decent scripts, but with Moffat in charge that is certainly doubtful.
