Poor Hurley. The scene with his foot was too funny. I hope he starts feeling better soon. :P
I can't quite figure out Boone's "dream". Locke asked, "is that what it made you see?". So, did Boone's encounter with the monster cause him to imagine all of that, or was the entire thing (monster encounter and all) imagined?
And Shannon-wow! This episode didn't do much to help her selfish, spoiled brat image, IMO. Too bad, because I do believe there's a lot more to her than that.
I totally agree with you about Locke. I've felt that way ever since he "helped" Charlie. He seems to be the type of person who is to smart for his own good; the kind who will do anything and everything to make things turn out the way he believes they should be, no matter what the consequences.
I think the paste Locke put on Boone's head wound was a hallocinogen that made him imagine the monster and Shannon. I still haven't quite digested this episode yet (and will probably have to watch it again, of course!) but I did wonder if his mind was conflating all of his fears and feelings of guilt to make him imagine that
( ... )
OMG. The scene with the foot was the funniest. thing. ever. I was falling over laughing.
Locke is such a mystery. My friend thinks he's insane but he has good insane and bad insane moments. Hmmm. I do think the whole monster enounter was imagined because of that crap he smeared on Boone's head. Locke definitely has something up his sleeve.
I do enjoy the Shannon Sayid vibes - that would be an interesting twist to things.
Did anyone else shriek when the monster snagged Shannon? My friend and I screamed so loud we were worried that her neighbors would think somemthing was wrong. :P And now my throat hurts.
My poor heart can't take this - two hours of thrills back to back!
Is it really malfunctioning and Locke intentionally gave him a bum compass, or is the island a strange magnetic vortex like the Bermuda Triangle, or is it something else? Hmmm.

I'm with you on the Locke thing. I'm not on board with how he goes about his 'education.'
Wow...I suspected Boone & Shannon had a more complicated relationship, but good grief!!
