Quick update on the world's *best* father-in-law. Faithful readers will recall that Brad broke his hip approximately 16 hours after arriving in Cape Cod for a small family reunion, as his younger son, Nick, his lovely wife Aran, and their amazing son Benji were over for a family holiday, Brad tripped over a bedspread in his room and broke his left

Of all possible outcomes, that sounds pretty good. Still a rotten thing to have happened but I'm relieved to hear that he's doing well. I hope that the disruption to all your lives is minimal.

(16 hours?? That's miserable. The universe could at least have let him have a vacation first.)

The hodpital overlooks the harbour in Hyannis, so I get to watch the boats and ferries come and go, but I suspect that's going to be the best deal I can make. Fortunately, when we get moved I won't have to pay high holiday prices for a hotel any more. The rehab facility has a respite apartment that I can stay in for less than a hotel room, and three meals included. That's going to take a lot of stress off.
