Larp thing #3
I figured I would do number one and three, and if someone is curious about #2 I would mention it.
I will preface these as I am going to keep these to boffer larps, as vampire games were a long time ago.
Who did you first LARP as? Erin MacLean
When and where did you first LARP? I think the first actual event I went to was a New Years Eve, Ashbury event. I ended up heading in with my brother, my buddy Andy, and a few other of our friends from another game, because we felt like RPing loud highlanders.
When and where was the last time you LARPed?
Volta - Staff - February 20th
Some of your more notable LARP characters?
Well there are some PC's and NPC's
The ones I think of:
Erin MacLean - Both Laire and Nero Mass. Same character two systems
Arkyn Shahrud - Current Nero Character
Draithon Caerwaithe - Currently retired Madrigal Character
"Granite" - Aralis

Sir Anton Valence - Former Royal Knight of Evendarr, current Regent of Volta - Nero, National
Runelord Crushridge - Runelord - Madrigal
Midnight - Redpath's Emo Pony - Nero, Volta
Who is your favorite character to LARP as?
I think Arkyn is my favorite Larp character to date.
Who is your dream LARP character?
I would say Arkyn a few years ago, when I was really actively playing.
How many of your friends LARP?
A good percentage, I would say around 70%
Have you ever walked around in public in your LARP outfit? Yes, I even have made fast food orders in full Sarr makeup. And yes they asked, and I launched into an explanation involving a touring company of Cats on retreat.
Do you make your own boffers? Yes
Ever used an ultralite? What do you think? Yes, and will always do so. I think they are great. I think they allow for a more competative landscape for more players to participate.
Have you ever made your own LARP outfit? Yes, and I will never do it again, I am not so good.
What was your favorite LARP experience or memory?
Hmm that is tough. There have been a good number of them from over the years. I have been doing this for a long time.
What is your worst LARP experience or memory?
Falling into a lit bonfire at Nero Mass.
When and where did you first learn of LARPing?
My brother played a boffer larp a few years before me.
What did you think of it then?
I was trying to avoid it.
What do you think of it now?
I've been playing for a long time now, and I cherish all of the wonderful people I have met through the games.
Do you plan your LARP outfits/characters way before you're meant to use them?
A bit, not a great deal.
Ever have something terrible happen to your outfit/props/weapon?
Yes, somehow I managed to find an oil spill in the forest at the Madrigal site on a gleaming white brand new tabard.
What is the best thing about LARPing?
The people.
What is the worst thing about LARPing?
The cost and loss involved with it.
