if you're lost you can look and you'll still find me. Time after Time
Go over the short story limit and edit down. My 3 minute video was 7 minutes before I hacked it down to 3. My 4 page paper was 6 pages. It really makes you learn economy of words.
I worry if I go over too far, it'll be all hacked and yucky if I have to edit it down too much. I think I need to find the clever switch in my head. I believe yours is stuck "on" all the time because that video was totally awesome.
pshaw! There was a lot more that I wanted to put in my video becauuse there's so much more to me than Stockroom, art, music, research, but I had to cut it way down. My longest narrative was 23 seconds. I agree that you don't want to have to hack it down so much, but sometimes when you have to go back and look over it, it's a good thing. I'm saying write as much as you want and maybe you'll find that you want to expand it to a larger work, and maybe in the process you'll come up with a short story out of it too. Don't defeat yourself from the start. Get your ideas down and you can always go back later.
