I admit that I adore most of the whole - the writing was just fabulous - the silly humour that gets thrown in at spontanious times. Like Buffy giving a really serious speech and then commenting it would have been better if she hadn't been in her fluffy bunny pajamas.
I have the entire series on DVD but find myself still watch the odd episode on tv.
I need to get all of Angel on DVD. I just thought it was fab - although the whole Connor arch annoyed me at times. But Westley's character development was awesome!
Mainly because of a discussion that broke out at a party I was at. A sociologist was mentioning in studying group dynamics that BTVS wasn't proving very useful compared to say Star Trek, because Buffy in specific and Whedon in general was becoming a very closed circle, not many young fans. Star Trek and Star Wars, baseball and football kept renewing. Buffy seems more of a time and the time is passing. And there was general agreement in the geeky, academic circle I socialize in that, they had lost interest in the Whedonverse.
Ironically, I was the one that thought that Joss might have a big hit with the Avengers: just big set pieces with fast quips and no need to tell a story or serve characters. Sounds perfect for Joss.

And it's not surprising. I caught a bit of a Season 2 ep replaying the other day and it looks very, very nineties.
