Permanent Youth

I first read about this girl in People magazine when she was going into kindergarten, probably 10 years ago. I've always wondered what's become of her. It's so weird to have found this story again...I remember what she looked like in those pictures 10 years ago. Wow ( Read more... )

Interesting! I don't know what to make of the comments attempting to put a positive spin on it, though. "Is she the fountain of youth?" Her condition doesn't seem like something to emulate.

Well, no, I don't think anybody wants to reproduce *that* exactly...but if, by figuring out the mutations that are causing her to *stop* aging, they could figure out how to slow it down? Or to let a person age for a while, and then stop there? That has potential.

Not saying it's necessarily *good,* but...it has potential.
