I agree. I gave my two extra hugs tonight. In our church there was a family last year that had two young ones under 7 and their Mom was killed in a one car crash on icy streets. While I do hurt for the adults left behind, it's the kids that my heart breaks for.
I was 33 when I lost my Dad, it was devastating. I can not comprehend having to deal with it younger. Indeed my two best friends lost their mom when they were 13 & 16, and I couldn't cope with their coping, at least not as well.
Wm was 18 when his dad died from brain cancer. He's still dealing with issues from it.
Now I'm on the other side, both my parents are alive and I've got a family of my own. My fear is leaving my kids young. I can't think about it too much and I'm absolutely worthless and consumed by fear and grief that hasn't happened. We have prepared as best as we can if something does happen, but... well... I just can't go there.
Wm and I were trying to remember, how old is Jim's daughter?
