The English pubs do have a certain addictive quality in my experience, but you seem to be thriving there.... I'm a little jealous

and yes, there is a certain something about english pubs....i think it's stuff like having your drink already poured before you've even sat down, and being allowed to bring your dog in, and...i dunno :) they're just friendly. one of my regulars used to live in a really dodgy suburb of london, and he reckoned that even there the pubs were friendly and familiar and not nearly as scary as you might expect. the pubbing lifestyle is so ingrained in the culture, here...it's funny :)
