Crackpot Theory: McCain on SNL Edition Poll

Nov 01, 2008 18:48

So, you have probably heard that John McCain is appearing on Saturday Night Live tonight. In my opinion, this is great -- for Barack Obama. Governor Palin has sort of developed her own fandom and her SNL appearance was anything but helpful to her. McCain is lucky to pull 3,000 (non-bussed in child) people in to his rallies, his campaign and ( Read more... )

I CAN'T EARLY VOTE, BUT I WILL VOTE ON TUESDAY, YAY!!!

I can vote early, but I just don't.

I've always heard horror stories about the lines at the early voting locations. Meanwhile, I can walk from my house to my regular polling place, and the line usually moves quickly (possibly because everyone *else* has already voted :grins:), so I just wait for election day.

As long as you vote!

I have heard the same stories and was worried, but it took me less than 30 minutes. I did try to time voting so that I went mid-week and mid-afternoon, trying to miss the on-the-way-to-work and lunchtime crowds, which I think helped. I have to give a lot of credit to the folks staffing the polling places in Texas. They seem to be doing a great job of helping people and keeping the lines moving. My one beef with them is that they did not give me an "I voted" sticker. :( (Yes, I realize that is petty of me, but darn it I wanted a sticker this year!!!)

I think you may have had bigger lines than we had up here. We are less blue, generally, and I think there is more apathy among non-frenzied, non-delusional McCain voters, at least that I've seen so far.

My polling place is always dead. There's never a line at all. It's weird. Every other place I've lived, I've had to wait in line for ages. (I think a lot of the people here aren't citizens.)

I have a similar situation here. Lots of apartments and condos, but many of the residents are foreign students at SMU. I think at best half of the people in my precinct are not citizens. And 80% of the other half are elderly.
