Thanks! So did you and the Knights of Avalon. I don't think Prof. Andrea is on NY Steam, more's the pity. She is the LJ user chunchmeow. Actually I should have asked her permission to post her photo. I will drop her a message to let her know.
What fun these pictures are, and you look fantastic!
I once made a Link costume (Link of the Zelda video game) for a 10 year old out of an xxl dark green sweatshirt from the thrift store: cut off the sleeves and zig-zagged the hem, brought the waist in a bit and..get this..turned one sleeve into a pointed little hat. He wore it with an old belt and a dagger made of wood, white long johns and boots.
Thank you! The Medieval Festival was so much fun. And I see we are of the same school of costume design (which I learned from my mother), which is, "Let's see what we can accomplish with what's on hand/cheaply bought." I may one day upgrade my tunic to something more authentic, but the rest of my accessories are good enough, I think. Thanks for the compliments.
Awesome, thanks fo ryour permission. Ay-Leen has another one of you two (a close-up, same shot) on her Flickr page. And thanks for the lovely compliment :)
Oh, I love that dress! That's neat that you know her. I am intrigued by the Quidditch match, but the Festival starts at 11:30. Are they going to let people in early for the Quidditch?
Fort Tryon is actually a public park. Their is no restriction to entry.
Each year I often get to the Faire early to check out the vendors as they are setting up and then walk back down to the main entrance to watch the opening parade.
The Quidditch match actually starts at 11:30am at the same time as the festival. But getting to the match from the main entrance will be tricky because of the parade. So I suggest getting there early and just taking a seat in the jousting bleachers =)
